Surya is the Founder of Prayog and like the saying goes, to put your own house in order, started this initiative in his own village in the Gopalganj district of Bihar. He completed his M. Phil in Planning and Development from IIT Bombay and has been engaged with various national and international NGOs since 2007, working across various themes viz. water governance, slum development, maternal and child health and tuberculosis. He gained the field insights through his work experiences in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar. Since 2015, he has been working on consulting assignments with various agencies.
He currently shapes the program aspect of Prayog, engages in fundraising and represents the organization at various fora. Apart from this, he prefers spending time in the Himalayas!
