Dr. Rajeshwar Mishra is a social psychologist by training and profession. He started his career with the A. N. Sinha Institute of Social Studies and then assumed an international assignment leading an Indo -Dutch project – North Bengal Terai Development Project, where he spent long years before he resigned from the Institute and established Center for the Development of Human Initiatives (CDHI) with the project staff on board, which he continues to mentor and nurture . CDHI is now fully managed by the local members. For a short stint he joined Central University of Bihar being the first faculty. At the University he helped develop the center for development studies under school of social sciences and policy. . His interests lie in field based action research through participatory pedagogy and methods. He has worked as a consultant and adviser to many international organisations (bilateral, multilateral and NGOs). Being a prolific author, he has published several books, articles, reports, proposals etc. His current interests include mentoring young professionals committed to community development”.
The energetic Professor has been the guiding soul behind Prayog and it was under his mentorship that the team moved ahead with ground implementation after 4 months of brainstorming and reflection. His vision of developing an army of like minded people who are in sync with the idea of an equal world is an integral part of Prayog’s working principles. Prof. Mishra is a firm believer in the wisdom and capacity of the common people and we at Prayog acknowledge this and strive to integrate it into our vision and practice.
