One of the best known cures for poverty is the empowerment of women. With this knowledge, the Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital (AJEH) conducts a program where the girls from Class VI are taken by AJEH, are trained to play professional football along with their regular studies, with additional mentoring to teach English and other essential skills. All this done free of charge to the girls or their parents. After Class X, the girls are also given a choice to pursue B.Sc in Optometry or continue in their professional footballing career.
Girls from PRAYOG at AJEH
Thirteen girls from PRAYOG were a part of AJEH in the year of inception of PRAYOG, and ten girls in the next year. These girls who return to their  villages have a stark increase in their confidence levels and are driven by a motive to achieve something bigger in life. Moreover, they become role models in their society, whom the others can look upto and realise how hard work and learning can change a person’s life
